Friendshapes & Friendships!

Our young readers discussed the joy of having friends, then we read: Friendshape by Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld.
Mrs. Brittain's class really enjoyed this colorful book of friends who just happen to be shapes.

This week, we had fun with Mo Willems' book: We Are In A Book!

Our ECS Readers enjoyed this fun interactive book with Elephant Gerald and Piggie as the two of them discovered they were being read. They even made our young readers say the word, 'Banana'. Gerald, Piggie and our young readers were sad to see this 57 page book come to an end.

Our Readers are enjoying the New Seats in the Library!

 Have a Wonderful Weekend!

ECS Celebrates World Read Aloud Day!

Thursday, February 1, 2018 was World Read Aloud Day! We sent the following flyer out to parents:

And we were excited to receive several videos of our students Reading Aloud to their parents at bedtime. We also received videos from ECS teachers reading to their new born babies.

Then we had 'Crazy Fun' with an entire class Reading their library books Aloud at the Same Time.

So, why not share your favorite book with a young reader & ask them to share their favorite book or story with you? Watch the Magic that books and stories bring into our lives and the lives of those around us.

Good afternoon!

Clara's library experience:

Clara was so excited for library time that she did not want to go to Braille room. She marched quickly on over to the library independently with a big smile. Once she entered the library, she checked out a touch and feel book and still, she asked to stay for library time. She then enjoyed the hands-on, interactive lesson that Ms. Jenkins provided.

Where would you take our friend Penguin on vacation?

After reading a story, Mrs. Youngblood's class completed a writing activity outside the library. Fun! Fun!

Parents, here's an invitation from the librarian at Bright Elementary for the Pre-k Storytime in the library.
