The Gingerbread was loose at the ECS

Oh, the wonderful smell of baking a gingerbread man! But what happens when the gingerbread man jumps out the oven and runs loose in the school?

The answer: Our ECS students eagerly run after him. Could he have run into the library?

Well, they didn't find the gingerbread man in the library, but the good news is that he was found.

There's nothing like reading a GREAT BOOK!

A Mouse at the Movies??????

When you go to the movies, what do you like to eat? Our young readers shouted: popcorn, candy, pretzels, juice, hot dogs and more. But when they discovered that this mouse asked for popcorn but not to eat......instead he puts it on a string to hang on the Christmas Tree as a decoration. "I've never seen that done before in my life," they exclaimed with amazement!

If You Take A Mouse To The Movies by Laura Numeroff took our students on a delightful journey of what happens when you 'do' take a mouse to the movies.

Lots of Great Happenings in the ECS Library!

A Wordless Book

Our Pre-k readers enjoyed creating their own stories using their imagination from this wordless book titled, 'Chalk' by Bill Thomson. The beautiful  illustrations tells the story of three children who find a bag of magical chalk at the playground on a rainy day. They each take turns drawing on the sidewalk with the chalk. Then magically, their drawings come to life, which seems great when a drawing of the sun stops the rain, but is scary when a dinosaur comes to life.

Our young pre-k readers interacted with the story by drawing their own pictures and giving the story their own endings.

Setting The Turkeys Free

Our ECS students had a Gobble! Gooble! Good Time with this fun story. Using paint, paper, sequins, toothpicks, feathers and everything imaginable, the young boy in the story paints beautiful turkeys. He loves his turkeys so much that they take on a life of their own. And when they do, our young readers began to ask, " Are the turkeys real?"

After reading the story, the students had fun decorating our giant Library Turkey.
